Cove Infant School

Growing and Achieving together

Easter Fun!

Before Easter, the children were excited to meet our new arrivals at school!

What first began as an egg delivery, quickly became 9 very cute, fluffy chicks.

The children very much enjoyed this amazing process...from the eggs being inside the incubator, spotting the first signs of the eggs 'pipping' (the first small crack in the shell), to the chicks emerging from the shells. Once the chicks were strong enough they could be moved into the brooder box where the children could observe how they moved, fed, slept together and even had a few cuddles with them!

Whilst watching this new life emerge before them, the children enjoyed learning about chicks, their lifecycle, a range of 'chick art' and even had miniature chicks in our small world play.
