Growing and Achieving together

Discover New Zealand

Cove Airlines took flight and headed for the beautiful North Island of New Zealand. The passengers became aware of the continents they passed over on route to their final destination.

The children are going to explore the island and admire the beautiful landscapes of Mount Ruapehu, Rotorua and Lake Taupo. They will discover an active volcano and bubbling mud springs. These tourist spots are described in detail and persuasive guides are created to provide visitors to the area with a whole host of information.

The Maori people settled in New Zealand and used the native ferns to inspire a symbol of strength. The children will use pencils and oil pastels to create their own Koru designs. A visitor’s centre will be carefully planned, with the children suggesting key information that needs to be displayed, allowing visitors to learn about the location, landmarks and culture.

Children will then share their learning with their grown ups as a New Zealand Visitor's centre will be created to highlight the famous landmarks and the culture of the country.
