The Journey Home
The children came in to find a parcel which had a label on it which said ‘Do Not Open Until You Have No Questions Left!!!’ We looked at what this could this mean and looked at what a question means.
Throughout their learning journey, the children will learn about endangered animals and the issues that they face on a day-to-day basis. They will explore habitats and understand why different animals are suited to different habitats whilst locating these in the world.
They will write fact files about their animals and write their own thought-provoking story based on The Journey Home which they will share with Year 1 children.
Outcome - Reading Stories to Year 1
Butterfly class were incredibly proud to head down to Newt Class to read their published stories to Year 1! They have worked hard to write their own stories about endangered animals and their search for a new home.
Quotes from Butterfly class:

"It has been really exciting - I get to read my book to everyone!"
"I really loved reading my story because one of the boys I read to liked my book so much he asked me to read it again!"
"One of the Year 1's even asked me to write him his very own book!"
