The Colour Monster
The children entered the classroom on their second day of school to find a mysterious monster on the wall. The monster looks very confused and he is very scruffy, with colours scattered all over him! The children spent time discussing different feelings and emotions, and how to understand these in ourselves and also in other people. They are going to help the colour monster understand his feelings by sorting them into happiness, sadness, fear, calmness, anger and love. Finally the children will write a poem about different colours and the feelings that these emote. The children will use their knowledge of primary and secondary colours to discover new ‘tertiary’ colours and create a Kandinsky style painting.
