Summer Reading Challenge!
This year, we have 2 summer reading challenges that we are promoting.
1) Wild World Heroes - This is the Public Library reading challenge and more information can be found on the link below.
Children have to register and then read 6 books. They can then earn stickers, a certificate and a medal!
2) Cove Infant School's Summer Reading Bingo Challenge
Choose one of our bingo boards to try and complete. There are a range of fun reading activities to conduct, such as, reading under the stars or reading a book that makes you laugh! Once you have completed the reading task, colour in the box. If you complete all the boxes, bring your bingo board back to school in September and you will earn a certificate!
The bingo boards are below.
'Wellbeing Wednesday' proved to be so popular during the January 2021 partial closures that many families expressed to us that it was something they wanted to continue outside of the school closures.
To help with this, we have detailed some ideas below for you. Please do send in anything that you have enjoyed so that we can share it with other families here!
5 Ways to Wellbeing
The Big Butterfly Count
Butterfly Conservation is asking for your help! The Big Butterfly Count is a UK-wide survey aimed at helping to assess the health of our environment simply by counting the amount and type of butterflies (and some day-flying moths) we see.
The idea is to spend 15 minutes in one spot and note down the number and type of butterflies you see in that time. You need to do this sometime between now and 8th August. You can do as many separate "counts" in that time as you want to.
