Perfect Penguins

   Perfect Penguins

After finding a penguin in the fridge, the children felt that they needed to be detectives so that they could learn about penguins to help the lost penguin find his way home.

We have had a great start to the project and the children have been so excited to learn lots of new penguin facts!

The children have been exploring colour mixing from light to dark colours. They used the techniques to create their Kandinsky penguin and their background for their penguin scene collage.

The children made penguins for their collage using a variety of materials and techniques to stick, cut and place carefully onto their background.

In Maths the children used life- size penguins to measure and compare the height of  things around them. They began to use the language 'taller and shorter' to explain their findings.
