The school day
The school day starts at 8.50am and ends at 3.15pm. Lunchtime is at 12.00 until 1.00pm. All children have the opportunity for a fifteen minute break during the morning. We want to care for your children and see that they are properly supervised whilst in school. Children should not arrive at school until 8.40am. when the children may be brought into their classrooms under the supervision of the classteacher. Similarly, at the end of the day parents should arrange for their children to be collected by 3.15pm. unless special arrangements have been made with the Headteacher, or your child is attending an extracurricular activity.
The school office is open from 8.30am until 4.30pm.
The lunchtime break is supervised by a team of lunchtime assistants, managed by the Senior Supervisory Assistant, who works under the direction of the Headteacher and liaises closely with the class teachers. Most children have lunch at school by either bringing a packed lunch or paying for a school lunch.
The children are allowed to bring water in clear water bottles and they have access to this throughout the day. Water bottles are available from the school office.
Healthy, balanced meals are cooked on the premises and menus are available termly. For those taking school meals we ask that payment is made in advance, alternatively you may use our online payment system. Any monies for the office should be in an envelope with the child’s name and class clearly written on the front. Packed lunches should be sent in clearly marked lunch boxes. As the school has maintained Healthy School status, we ask that no chocolate or sweets are put into packed lunches.
If you are in receipt of any benefits you may be entitled to free school meals, please contact the office for further information.
